“Kids for Christ” is the children’s ministry of Southside Church of Christ. “KFC”ministers to children from birth through the fifth grade and the families of these children. The mission of “KFC” is to foster in our children a love for God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, which will encourage a commitment to daily living for Him and sharing His Good News with others. |
Our mission statement is: “loving the Shepherd, Sharing His Light.” Our guiding scripture is Matthew 5:14, 16: “…you are the light of the world…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven…” Ours is an education and service ministry. Our mission is two-fold: to “lay the Word of our heavenly Father on the hearts of our children” and to foster a relationship between our children and our heavenly Father, which they will share with their family, their friends, and their neighbors. Every young child has a God-given gift. It is our goal to teach our children how to use their gift in service to God.
The children’s ministry is led by its directors, Leslie Davis (ages birth to Kindergarten) and Sonna Anthony (Grades 1-6), who are in turn, guided by the shepherds of our congregation. We use the FaithWeaver curriculum, which is published by Sweet Publishing. Ours is a newly re-organized and revitalized ministry and we welcome each and every visitor to learn more about us and how YOU can join our team and make a difference in the lives of our children.
